I think it's time for us to take a look at one of the most awesome carmakers that ever was. I'll only post the pictures, and one of you can give the lecture.

Damn! I totally agree with you on this one. I'm blanking on the name of the manufacturer, but I know that the Peterson has one (its Pink/Purple/Fuscia/Violet) and they took it to Pebble this year. Love the fading hue stripes.

I tagged the post with the name mate :) But it's Ruxton. Do you know what was "strange" about them, other than the choice of colours?

I don't. I should do some research!

You really should, Ruxton was something else for sure. We've written about them here on Oppo earlier I think, so I guess you could do a search here.

Here's a '29 Ruxton next to a Pontiac of similar age...
That should give you a hint :)

So it was all due to being FWD? Odd. But I like it it. Now that I think about it, the Traction Avant was quite low as well.

The second FWD American car, coming out a few months after the Cord L-29, though I believe the Ruxton's design was "frozen" earlier than the Cord and should have gone on sale sooner if not for other problems. Also the first car to come from the factory with Woodlights, which quickly became something of a fad.

Woodlights LOOK fantastic, but you can't see shit with them on your car at night :P

Not sure if it was JUST becaue of the FWD, I have a feeling that they wanted to Ruxton to be sleek.
